How to Skin Flood with Toners
If you don’t know what Skin Flooding is, you can catch up here.
Here are a few reasons I would start Skin Flooding IMMEDIATELY:
You have to be on camera in 30 days (weddings, photoshoots, film).
It’s time to start a glow up situation.
You like your current actives but feel like they are not performing as well as they used to.
Your skin is dry as the Sahara.
Skin Flooding with Toners and Essences can be broken down into very simple steps:
1. Cleanse and Dampen:
Start with a clean face, and then mist your skin with water or a face mist to make it damp.2. Apply Toners/Essences:
Apply several thin layers of hydrating toners or essences, allowing each layer to absorb slightly before applying the next.3. Layer Serums:
Follow with one or two hydrating serums, again layering them from thinnest to thickest.4. Allow for Product Absorption.
5. Moisturize:
Finish the routine with a moisturizer to help seal in all the hydration.
Key considerations for skin flooding:
Hydrating Products:
Focus on toners, essences, or ampules that are specifically designed to provide hydration.Gentle Application:
Avoid toners with exfoliating or active ingredients, as these can strip the skin and work against the hydrating goal of skin flooding.Layering:
Apply the thinnest liquids first and gradually move to thicker, more milky products to allow for proper absorption.Consistency:
Perform the routine twice a day, in the morning and/or evening, as needed for your skin.Listen to Your Skin:
Adjust the number and type of products based on your skin's specific needs on any given day.
